What is carbon steel?
Steel made primarily of iron and carbon, without a zinc coating. It is strong, weldable and easy to machine.
Which carbon steel grades are available?
Including ASTM A36, SS400, Q235B, S235JR, S355JR, A283 Grade C, A572 Grade 50, ASTM A53 (pipe), ASTM A500 (hollow) and ASTM A992 (beams).
What is the difference between hot-rolled, cold-rolled and pickled?
Hot-rolled is rolled at high temperature and has mill scale. Cold-rolled is rolled at room temperature for tighter dimensions and a smoother surface. Pickled is hot-rolled steel with the scale removed by acid, ready for painting or forming.
Does carbon steel need painting?
For outdoor or humid use, yes — carbon steel needs paint or a protective coating. For rust protection without painting, choose galvanized steel.
Can plate and HRC be cut to size?
Yes. Plate and HRC are available cut-to-length from 2,000 to 12,000 mm, with thickness to request.
How long does carbon steel delivery take?
