IllustrationHasps
A lockout hasp lets several workers lock a single energy-isolation point at once — the machine can only restart after the last padlock is removed. Avenix in Batam supplies BD-series lockout hasps in steel, aluminium and insulating material with 1" and 1.5" jaw diameters for machine and panel maintenance.

A valve lockout holds a valve in the closed position so fluid, steam or pressurised gas cannot be released during maintenance. Avenix in Batam supplies BD-series valve lockouts for ball valves, 25–330 mm gate valves, butterfly and rotary valves, plus pneumatic lockouts and pressurised gas cylinder valve lockouts.

IllustrationElectrical Lockouts
Electrical lockouts hold MCBs, MCCBs, switches, sockets and emergency-stop buttons in the off position so circuits cannot be re-energised during repairs. Avenix in Batam supplies BD-series breaker lockouts, 480–600 V breaker lockouts, wall switch and socket lockouts, emergency-stop lockouts and 22–39.5 mm install bases.

Lockout/tagout (LOTO) is the practice of controlling hazardous energy during machine service or maintenance. Each energy source is switched off, physically isolated, locked with a personal padlock and tagged with who locked it and why. The machine is re-energised only after every padlock has been removed by its owner.
Typical LOTO sequence:
- Prepare — identify all energy sources (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, thermal, chemical).
- Notify affected workers of the shutdown.
- Shut the machine down using the normal procedure.
- Isolate energy — open breakers, close valves, unplug.
- Apply lockout devices and personal padlocks with tags.
- Release or restrain stored energy (pressure, springs, capacitors).
- Verify isolation — attempt start-up and test for zero energy.
As general context, the US standard OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 (The Control of Hazardous Energy) is widely used as a reference for LOTO programmes in international industry. It governs employer procedures and programmes, not the certification of particular products.
Match the device to the isolation point: hasps let several workers lock one point, safety padlocks give each worker a unique key, valve lockouts cover ball, gate and butterfly valves, breaker lockouts cover MCBs and MCCBs, and cable lockouts suit irregular isolation points. Avenix supplies the physical LOTO devices; procedures, training and authorised-person designation remain the responsibility of your company safety programme.

FAQ
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) FAQ
Can’t find the answer? Contact our team — we reply the same business day.
What is lockout/tagout (LOTO)?
LOTO is a procedure to isolate and lock hazardous energy sources with padlocks and tags so machines cannot be started during maintenance.
What is the difference between lockout and tagout?
Lockout physically prevents operation using padlocks and lockout devices. Tagout is a warning label showing who applied the lock and why. They are normally used together.
Does Avenix sell LOTO devices in Batam?
Yes. Avenix supplies BD-series LOTO devices from Batam, from hasps and safety padlocks to valve and breaker lockouts, lockout stations and bags. Delivery outside Batam can be discussed.
Are these LOTO devices OSHA certified?
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 governs energy-control programmes and procedures, not product certification. Technical data and manufacturer documents per code are available on request from our sales team.
Which LOTO devices do I need to start?
At minimum a safety padlock per worker, hasps for group lockout, tags and devices matching your isolation points (breaker, valve or cable). A lockout bag or station keeps everything organised.
How do I get LOTO device prices?
Send the BD codes and quantities via the RFQ form or WhatsApp and our team will reply with a quotation.
