Safety shoe & glove size guide
This guide converts safety shoe sizes between EU, UK, US and foot length in centimetres, and finds your glove size from 6 to 11 under EN 420 using hand circumference and length. Use it to order shoes and gloves for a whole team at once. Sizing differs slightly between brands, so treat the result as an approximation.

Measure bare foot length from heel to longest toe, ideally in the afternoon wearing work socks.

What foot length is a size EU 42 safety shoe?
EU 42 usually fits a foot length of about 26–26.5 cm, equal to UK 8 and US men’s 9. Check the chosen model’s size chart because brands differ.
Are King’s, Red Wing and Safety Jogger sizes the same?
Not always. Red Wing uses US sizing and some models run large, while King’s and Safety Jogger generally use EU sizes. Confirm with our team before ordering in bulk.
What if my foot is between two sizes?
Choose the larger size, especially for steel or composite toe caps, because your toes need about 1 cm of space.
What does glove size 9 or L mean?
Under EN 420, size 9 (L) fits a hand circumference of about 22.9 cm and a hand length of about 19.2 cm. Sizes 6 to 11 equal XS to XXL.
Is EN 420 still current?
EN 420 was replaced by EN ISO 21420 for general glove requirements, but the hand-size table is the same and still used by manufacturers.
