Membrane Waterproofing for a BP Batam Building
Membrane waterproofing of a multi-storey BP Batam building's exterior walls since October 2026: scaffolding, surface prep and a liquid membrane against rain.

This project has been running since October 2026 on one of BP Batam's multi-storey buildings. The exterior walls are being coated with a liquid-applied waterproofing membrane so that rainwater cannot seep into the walls, which usually shows up as damp patches, peeling paint or mould on the inside.
Work stages
- Scaffolding and safety. Frame scaffolding was erected along every side of the façade, with green safety netting, barrier tape and plastic sheeting at ground level to keep the work area safe for workers and building users.
- Surface preparation. Walls are cleaned of dust, moss and loose old paint. Hairline cracks are filled before the base layer goes on.
- Membrane application. The liquid membrane is applied in layers from top to bottom. The finished side of the building shows an even blue coat over the whole wall area.
- Detailing and checks. Vulnerable areas such as window surrounds, corners and the wall-to-roof junction get extra attention, then coating thickness and coverage are checked.
Batam's humid climate and high year-round rainfall make the exterior walls of tall buildings especially prone to seepage. See Avenix waterproofing services and our guide to exterior wall membrane waterproofing.
This documentation will be updated as work progresses.
